alt_About Our Evidence-Based Treatments

Evidence-based treatments are backed by rigorous scientific research and involve randomized control trials studied by multiple research teams. To be deemed ‘evidence-based,’ a treatment must display profound improvements in the treatment group across diverse settings and studies. By following a standardized treatment plan, a CBT, DBT, or Trauma therapist in Virginia Beach can stay consistent in intervention delivery. Not only do these practices affirm the high performance of therapy, but they also expedite healing when used correctly for specific symptoms. At Beach Therapy, evidence-based treatments drive our psychotherapy telehealth and in-person sessions.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for adults, young adults, teens, and children
  • Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • DBT Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) and Prolonged Exposure (PE)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma
About Us

DBT treatment was originally developed to treat self-harming and suicidal behaviors and has been adapted for children, adolescents, adults, and other populations. The main goal of DBT for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is to build a life worth living— DBT Therapists collaborate with patients by taking careful, organized, and deliberate steps to establish target behaviors and achieve treatment goals. Our online and in-person DBT therapy program does not target patients diagnosed with primary eating disorders or active psychosis.
